Any Air B&B or VRBO close to Main Street should be withing walking distance of the reception.
Our wedding and reception will be located in Frisco, Colorado. Frisco is a small mountain town located right off of I-70, approximately 95 miles west of Denver International Airport, and at an elevation of 9,100 feet.
The easiest way to get to Frisco is to fly into Denver International Airport, rent a car, and drive up the mountain on I-70 to Frisco. There are shuttles available from DIA to Frisco as well. Hotels are located about a mile from the reception, and about 2 miles from the ceremony site.
Weather in late September should be cool and sunny, but there is always the possibility of snow in the high country. This time of year is also prime leaf peeping season as well, so there could be traffic on I-70 on Friday, as well as heavy traffic back to Denver on Sunday afternoon. We recommend leaving early on Sunday morning, or staying an extra night and departing on Monday, September 30th to avoid the heavy traffic on I-70 back to Denver.
For those coming from lower elevations, it is highly encouraged to increase your hydration before and during travel, as well as your first two days in the mountains. Altitude sickness, though rare, can occur without warning. Pre-hydration can help avoid symptoms of altitude sickness.
